Alfa Romeo Creates Historical Vehicle Certification Program
Rairdon’s Alfa Romeo of Kirkland is pleased to announce that Alfa Romeo has created a comprehensive historical vehicle certification program. Known as “Alfa Romeo Classiche” the program includes an array of services designed to protect historical Alfa Romeo model authenticity thus adding value to certified historical Alfa Romeo models and protecting those seeking out past models of the iconic Italian automotive brand.
The program was first announced at the 39th edition of “Auto e Moto d’Epoca” and the 2022 1000 Miglia Warm Up USA. and consists primarily of three parts:
- Certificate of Origin
- Certificate of Authenticity
- Restoration Service
Alfa Romeo’s top management will be personally involved in the program starting with Alfa Romeo’s CEO Jean Philippe Imparato chairing the certification committee along with the Head of the Heritage Department whose team is staffed with experts in Alfa Romeo history. Additional support comes from the Alfa Romeo Museum, which is home to production registers and all the technical documentation required to analyze the vehicles for certification.
Certification of Origin
Alfa Romeo Classiche staff will determine the history of each subject vehicle via its chassis number. The service documents the vehicle’s production register and then certifies its year of production and original configuration, including:
- Model specifications
- Engine serial number
- Original exterior and interior details
Certification of Authenticity
Should a vehicle pass its review of the production data and technical specifications based on the company archives, the Heritage department will examine the authenticity of the car. This rigorous inspection and evaluation process is carried out by the Heritage Department specialists who verify the authenticity of the car and its components as well as the functioning of the main mechanical parts. For Italian owners, the inspection occurs at the Officine Classiche in Mirafiori, or at the Stellantis & You sales and service dealership in Rome and Palermo. For vehicles in the US, the inspection process can be arranged to occur at the owner’s home. An Alfa Romeo Classiche” certification promises to add value to the vehicle for its present and future owners.
Restoration Service
For those whose historical Alfa Romeo is a work in progress, help will be available from the team that restores and maintains Stellantis’ historical collection. Available services range from simple maintenance to complete restoration: from a simple diagnosis to exterior restoration, repair of individual mechanical and aesthetic components, and final testing.
Alfa Romeo CEO, Jean Philippe Imparato says of the program: “Alfa Romeo is going through a key phase in its history. The historical period we are going through is a genuine evolution. The brand’s future includes very ambitious goals aimed at redefining the concept of sportiness in the 21st century while remaining faithful to its DNA. While planning for the future, our heritage is always our main source of inspiration. For us, the Alfa Romeo Classiche heritage program aims to enhance our historic automotive heritage by certifying the authenticity of vintage Alfa Romeos and giving new life to marvelous examples that still captivate and excite car enthusiasts around the world.”
