Will Alfa Romeo release a supercar in 2023?
Early this year, just after the calendars flipped pages, Alfa Romeo released a video on its Instagram highlighting 2022 and looking forward to a packed 2023 that we already know will see the new versions of the Giulia and Stelvio arrive here in the U.S., as well as the debut of the brand-new Tonale. But the automaker also slipped in a little teaser that points to something else completely new being revealed in 2023. Having had plenty of time to sift through all kinds of predictions and hypotheses, we thought we’d address the question that has been on a lot of people’s minds ever since – will Alfa Romeo release a supercar in 2023?

Speculation Surrounding Alfa Romeo 6C
Last year, Alfa Romeo CEO Jean-Phillippe Imparato began dropping hints that the brand would be releasing a supercar in the near future. Naturally, speculation around this taillight has led many to believe it was a teaser for that hinted supercar, and we’re definitely inclined to believe. As many have pointed out, the taillight in question is reminiscent of the 4C, the brand’s last supercar which was discontinued after 2020, and even the older 8C which ran from ‘07 to ‘10.
It’s also believed that this vehicle, whatever it might be, will be the last new Alfa Romeo model to enter production with an internal combustion engine. The brand, like many others around the industry, is scheduled to shift entirely to electrification by the end of the decade. Others speculate that this might be introduced as a way to split the gap between the end of combustion and the electric future, thus being offered with both ICE and EV powertrains.

We cannot wait to find out just what this teased taillight truly is. While everything is still speculation at this point, we might start to get facts as early as next month, as Imparato stated he wanted to tell the world about it in March. Stay tuned for more details as soon as they become available!
